D. Glenn Martyn, Executive Director
Glenn started his dog training career in California and continued as a professional trainer when he moved to Missoula, Montana to study animal behavior at the University.
In 1987, Missoula’s Community Medical Center (Rehabilitation Center) invited Glenn to help establish PawsAbilities (Canine Partners for People with Disabilities). PawsAbilities continues to train and place Hearing and Service Dogs in Montana as a division of The Hearing Dog Program.
In 1999, Glenn became Training Director at the SF/SPCA Hearing Dog Program. In 2005 he became Director of the original program. Since 2008, when the new Hearing Dog Program was formed, he has served as the Executive Director.
Ashley Torres
Starting as a child in a family of Service Dog trainers, Ashley grew up training both Hearing and Service Dogs. She also graduated with an Animal Science degree from Cal Poly’s pre-veterinary program and earned a Master of Science degree in Canine Life Sciences from Bergin College of Canine Studies.
Ashley has had a highly successful career as a full-time Assistance Dog trainer for people with hearing loss and other disabilities. She now serves as The Hearing Dog Program’s NorCal Regional Director. We welcome Ashley to her new position!
